Jeffery E. Lay, CMT

Jeffery E. Lay, CMT is President and Co-Founder of Talon Eight. As managing partner, he assists affluent executives, families, trusts, endowments and foundations in creating custom tailored portfolios using our proprietary trading methodologies. An expert in strategic and tactical asset allocation using highly non-correlated asset classes, with key emphasis on capital preservation and tax efficient transfer of wealth, he delivers sophisticated solutions for our clients.

Previously, Mr. Lay served as Vice President and Wealth Advisor at Neuberger Berman Wealth Management, A Lehman Brothers company. A trusted advisor to ultra high net worth families, corporate institutions, and nonprofit organizations, he delivered the full spectrum of financial services and investment banking disciplines to senior executives and their counsel.

Mr. Lay has served as Director, Chartered Market Technician Institute (CMTi) for the Market Technicians Association (MTA). Also serving as Education Chair, he oversaw a sophisticated online financial training solution wherein he developed, integrated and delivered content covering all aspects of inter market technical analysis. Mr. Lay has personally trained more than 400 analysts and portfolio managers from over 12 countries internationally, and was responsible for several initiatives critical to the future of the MTA.

Before entering the financial services profession, Mr. Lay was a Naval Aviator, Fighter Pilot and Flight Instructor in the United States Navy and Air National Guard flying the F-14 Tomcat and the F-16 Fighting Falcon. An accomplished flight instructor and graduate of the United States Navy Fighter Weapons School (TOPGUN), he flew more than 50 combat missions, made over 400 carrier landings and accumulated over 3,500 flight hours in high performance aircraft.

Mr. Lay received his Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from the United States Naval Academy in 1987. He is a Chartered Market Technician (CMT), serves as Director on the Board of the Market Technicians Association (MTA), and holds the Series 3, 7, 63 and 66 securities licenses.

David C. Stendahl

David Stendahl is a Principal and Co-Founder of Talon Eight. As managing partner, he is responsible for designing and monitoring our proprietary trading systems in more than 40 futures markets. Mr. Stendahl is an authority in the field of system design and portfolio construction. He has lectured around the world at national and international conferences focusing on system design and money management techniques.

Mr. Stendahl authored the book Profit Strategies: Unlocking Trading Performance with Money Management and is the co-author of two additional books Dynamic Trading Indicators and Computerized Trading. His trading expertise has also been featured in a number of educational videos, including The Systematic Trader and Winning with Value Charts. He has written multiple articles focused on system evaluation techniques.

Previously, Mr. Stendahl co-founded Lexington Asset Management, a Commodity Pool Operator (CPO) and Commodity Trading Advisor (CTA) firm specializing in trading the futures markets. He has co-created a wide variety of technical indicators and trading systems used to systematically trade the markets. Mr. Stendahl also co-founded RINA Systems, a software development firm, specializing in financial software. Specifically, he co-created various performance analysis software packages including Performance Summary Plus (now incorporated into the TradeStation platform), Portfolio Evaluator, Money Manager and 3D SmartView.

Mr. Stendahl received his Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Wittenberg University in 1987. He serves as Director on the Board of the Cincinnati chapter of the Market Technicians Association (MTA), and holds the Series 3 and 30 securities licenses. [More]
